Douglas Austin   Management Consultant and Senior Advisor 

Doug has led million-dollar contracts in areas of procurement support and mission delivery achieving high performance ratings.  Doug supports contract vehicle management and serves as a strategic advisor and management to Galvan Principals.  He is a senior professional  with significant federal policy and strategic planning experience, along with improving performance results from Federal government programs.  

Doug is a published writer with communications and advocacy experience in government, print media and trade association settings.  He demonstrated Federal policy development experience and has served as liaison with senior National Economic Council, OMB and EOP staff along with other Federal agencies and public meetings.   Doug has managed teams assigned to update the SBA 2008 – 2013 Strategic Plan and to produce a report on how SBA programs can better reach “ under-served markets” and metrics to evaluate results.  

As a senior consultant Doug has been on projects for the 2009 FHA IT Transformation Team to develop a roadmap plan.  Currently, he is the lead at FEMA assisting their contract office on management related issues.  He also oversaw contract performance for a prime contract.  

In government Doug was a senior official at the SBA Policy Office and at the Mine Safety and Health Administration.  He also served as U.S. House of Representative staff member supporting oversight committees.   He was a staff writer for Investor Business Daily where he was responsible for writing both news stories and editorials for national financial newspaper where he covered energy, technology and other business trends on New America economy page.

Doug earned a Master of Arts in International Studies from The Claremont Graduate School (CA) and a Bachelor of Arts in Government (with Honors) and Bachelor of Arts in History, cum laude, University of Redlands (CA).
